Great collection of 11 Political Autographed First Day Cover Stamped Postmarked Envelopes signed by: Carl Albert, Bella Abzug, Clemente Zablocki, Frederick Lewis, John Lindsay, Richard Daley, Kathleen Spear, Jane Byne, Ivan Baker Priest, Wilbur Wills and Ed Koch from the beginner to advanced collector. Each comes with the original envelope mailed to the same recipient and a First Day Cover signed by the politician. Some include additional autographs or official documents or letters.
The first is 1972 Speaker of the House Carl Albert 1957 Issue First Day Letter. Secondly is Bella Abzug – Congress woman and a newspaper photo dated 10/23/1972 of her. Thirdly is Clement J. Zablocki, a Congressman. Next is Frederick A. Lewis – Special Aide to Mayor. New York City letter autographed along with his boss’s autograph John Lindsay. Also included is New York City Mayor, Richard Daley – Chicago Mayor, Kathleen Spear – Secretary to the Mayor signed letter acknowledging request for FDC. Next is the female Jane Byne – Chicago Mayor – includes Chicago letterhead letter to recipient. Henry Maier the Mayor of Milwaukee. Furthermore signed by Ivy Baker Priest, the Treasurer of the United States (Signature on all US currency) & 6/24/75 newspaper obituary clipping of her, Next is Wilbur Wills a congressman. Next to last is the world renowned Ed Koch the affable New York City Mayor with personal typed letter signed by him to the recipient and finally Harold Washington the first black mayor of Chicago who also died in office in 1987, Also included is a Chicago Mayor placard autographed & Personal letter autographed written to recipient.
Upon examination they appear to be all hand signed, however any or all could be auto-penned, secretarial, imprinted or faux. This incredible collection of iconic politicians is a unique and eclectic group that every history or political buff needs to enhance their collection. *The majority appear to be hand signed however any or all could be stamped, auto-penned or secretarial.* A few of the pennings have some slight lightening (from age/storage) but all rate a 7+ with the average being 8.
