Description

The 1928 Chicago White Sox finished in fifth place in the American League. The pennant was won by the New York Yankees.

Presented is an old OAL (Barnard) baseball signed by 13 of the team members of the 1928 Chicago White Sox. They signed the baseball in steel tip fountain pen. Signers include Ed Walsh, Sr. and Red Faber of HOF note. As well as Harry McCurdy, Moe Berg, Bud Clancy, Buck Crouse, Carl Reynolds, Johnny Mann, Bill Cissell, Randy Moore, Alex Metzler, Ted Blankenship, E. S. Barnard (A.L. President / Autograph has faded, above Blankenship.

The ball has been preserved with a shellack and of note the handwriting, “White Sox Training Trip Shreveport L.A. 1928 was penned in an unknown hand. There is also an unidentifiable signature on the east panel deemed inconclusive.”

The baseball includes a full letter of authentication from JSA.
