Description
James J. Braddock reigned for two years at Heavyweight champ before being defeated by Joe Louis in 1937. Presented is a baseball (D & M Official League Ball) that has been signed by former Heavyweight Champion of the world, James J. Braddock. Dated just one month after his historic upset of Max Baer. Braddock has inscribed the ball in blue ink (“5″ ) on a side panel to boxing referee Packy McFarland/The best of luck/James J. Braddock/7-30-35.” The baseball itself is lightly soiled. Also to note, there’s an illegible notation neatly written on the sweet spot in vintage blue ink which is not visible if the baseball is properly displayed.
