Presented is a great original AP press photo showcasing two standout Boston Red Sox baseball players in their military service. The photo is from 1942 (however pencil dated 9-10-43) and showcases aviation cadets Ted Williams and Johnny Pesky being welcomed at Bunker Hill by Captain DD. Gurley. Captain Gurley was the commanding officer at the Naval Air Station. Both players were beginning their primary flight training. The photo measures 7.5″ x 9″ and has proper captioning and stamping on the verso for it being an A.P. press wire photo. Both Ted Williams and Johnny Pesky signed the photo in black felt tip (“9-10”) for added historic value.
