1942 New York Yankees World Series Press Pin

Due to war-time restrictions on the civilian use of most metals, 1942’s New York Yankees World Series press pins were fashioned in a non-critical material – sterling silver, as a matter of fact. And though that pin’s production was perhaps a bit deficient in aesthetics, it was nonetheless a noble and necessary sacrifice. The one offered here typifies the few that remain from that long-ago Fall Classic. A Dieges & Clust creation, it is mildly and uniformly tarnished, but the integrity of every material detail remains to the utmost. The original nut attends, and this piece would be accepted at Near Mint.
