Description

The 1946 World Series was between the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox. It was the first World Series for the Sox since 1918. The Cardinals won the Series in seven games winning their sixth championship.Although the 1946 Boston Red Sox fell one win short of the championship, this team-signed OAL (Harridge) ball represents that memorable squad.

The baseball itself shows aging and was top coated for preservation. The 20 signatures were done in steel-tip fountain pen. Three of the bunch are Hall of Famers including Bobby Doerr, Joe Cronin and Ted Williams. Key signatures are Johnny Pesky, Dom DiMaggio, Tex Hughson, S. Mele, R. Russell, Mel Parnell, D. Gutteridge, Wally Moses, Birdie Tebbetts, J. Dobson, M. Harris, E. Pellagrini, L.  Culberson, J. Jones and others. Of note, the inscriptions were penned in the hand of Joe Cronin and Ted Williams. Includes a full letter of authentication from JSA.
