Description has been updated.
Now embarking on that unique odyssey of five consecutive world championships, the Yankees of 1949 consented to ink their identities to this autograph sheet. The signatures are all splendidly bold and distinct, and the medium (extracted from a standard 4-1/2" x 6" autograph album) is ideally clean except for one small blemish which doesn’t encroach any of the signings. The signatures are distributed on both sides of the leaf, and on one side we note the handwritten caption, "New York ‘Yankees’…1949." These are unusually strong pennings – all of them "trong>9-10" in quality. Listing these alphabetically, we report: Hank Bauer, trong>Yogi Berra, Bobby Brown, Ralph Buxton, Jerry Coleman, Joe DiMaggio (clubhouse), Tommy Henrich, Billy Johnson, Charlie Keller, Johnny Lindell, Ed Lopat, Cliff Mapes, Willard Marshall, Gus Niarhos, Joe Page, Duane Pillette, Vic Raschi, trong>Phil Rizzuto, Fred Sanford, Charlie Silvera, trong>Casey Stengel, Snuffy Stirnweiss, Jim Turner, and Gene Woodling.
