1950 New York Yankees Team-Signed Ball (w/DiMaggio, Mize and Martin)

Description
Our cursory examination of this OAL (Harridge) team-signed ball immediately confirms that its constituents were Yankees of the early 1950s. Radically juxtaposed among them, however, is the inking of one Lew Burdette – yep, the same guy who, as a Milwaukee Brave, absolutely foiled the vaunted Pinstrip offense in 1957’s World Series. Yea verily!…that fine moundsman was, in fact, signed by New York in ’47 and labored a mere inning of work for them in 1950. There are 27 autographs on this ball. It has been shellacked, but all the names are immediately discernible to average about "7" in quality. The franchise, trong>Joe DiMaggio, exclusively claimed the sweet spot ("trong>6-7"). Then the side panels hold the pennings of Hank Bauer, trong>Yogi Berra, Bobby Brown, Lew Burdette, Tommy Byrne, Jerry Coleman, Joe Collins, Tom Ferrick, Tommy Henrich, Ralph Houk, Jackie Jensen (recent All-American footballer at Cal, and presently an exciting diamond rookie), Billy Johnson, Ed Lopat, Dave Madison, Cliff Mapes, trong>Billy Martin ("trong>7", the very able but incorrigible rookie), trong>Johnny Mize, Joe Ostrowski, Joe Page, Vic Raschi, Allie Reynolds, trong>Phil Rizzuto, Fred Sanford, Charlie Silvera, Gene Woodling, and Hank Workman.
