The 1950 Pittsburgh Pirates season was the 69th season of the Pittsburgh Pirates franchise; the 64th in the National League. The Pirates finished eighth and last in the league standings with a record of 57–96.
(19) 1950 Pittsburgh Pirates signed this ONL Ford C. Frick red stitch baseball. Very rare HOF Honus Wagner, on the sweet spot, followed by Ralph Kiner. Key (s) signature, Nanny Fernandez, Johnny Hopp, Pete Castiglione, Stan Rojek, Ray Mueller, Goldie Holt, Vic Lombardi, Hank Schenz, Dale Coogan, Earl Turner, Jack Phillips, Bob Chesnes, Bill Werle, Murry Dickson, Wally Westlake, L. Levy and Billy Meyer manager. Signatures signed in black steel-tip fountain pen. Signatures grade 7-8. The legendary “Flying Dutchman” probably spent more time in a Pittsburgh Pirates uniform than anyone else before or since. After a long and successful eighteen-year playing career in Pittsburgh (1900-1917), Wagner rejoined the club as a coach in 1930. Extremely popular with both the players and fans, Wagner was a fixture on the Pirates bench for twenty-two years before retiring in 1951 at the age of seventy-seven. Authentication: JSA Full Letter
