1950s Hal Smith (Cardinals) Game-Used Bat

Description
In the late ’50s two capable catchers appeared in major league ranks whose name was “Hal Smith.” The Hal Smith who played for the Cardinals, ultimately earned All-Star invitations twice. The characteristics of the facsimile signature on this game-used bat can be attributed to him. The Adirondack model 171B bat dates to the 1951-57 era (but its use likely dates no earlier than 1955 – Smith’s big league debut). The bat demonstrates excellent use with hit marks and green bat rack marks. The measurements are 34 1/2″ with a weight of 33.8 oz. To note, there is some moderate deadwood on the barrel and the handle has moderate smoke damage.
