Description

We’ll take the high road on this one – it could be the pennant-winning Dodgers of 1952, but all the players on this ball were rostered with the Bums in ’51 as well. There are 22 signatures altogether, and we’re told that three of them – Reese, Furillo and Snider – are the so-called clubhouse variety. Nonetheless, all the others, including the pivotal guys, have been deemed genuine, and the strength of these autographs deviates little from “7-8”. The pleasantly clean ball, by the way, is an ONL Frick, who ascended to the Commissioner’s Office in 1952 which therefore denies us determining the exact vintage of the signing. Aside from those autographs already qualified, there appear – Chuck Dressen, Jackie Robinson (“8”), Phil Haugsted, Dick Williams, Clyde King, Bud Podbielan, Don Newcombe, Clem Labine, Cal Abrams, Billy Cox, Rocky Bridges, Ralph Branca, Preacher Roe, Gil Hodges, Don Thompson, Johnny Schmidt, Andy Pafko, Roy Campanella (“7”) and Carl Erskine.
