1951 New York Yankees World Series Press Pin

The initial recipient of this 1951 Yankees World Series press pin undoubtedly witnessed the first post-season play of the 19-year-old phenom Mickey Mantle. Tragically though, it was in Game 2 (in Yankee Stadium) that Mantle suffered an injury that benched him for the rest of the Series. Undaunted by the loss of their sensational rookie, the Yankees went on to defeat the despised Giants from across town. The matter at hand, however, is this original 1951 Yankee press pin. We qualify its condition to report that mild tarnishing appears on the gold plated visor of the top hat. Thereafter, the piece warrants our highest admiration. The enameling is perfect and the pin retains its original nut. By strictest standards, it is Excellent…but arguably EX/MT.
