1954 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball (Jackie Robinson, Campanella, Snider)
Out of stock
A magnificent team it was in 1954, but these Dodgers didn’t quite make it to the summit of the Senior Circuit. Through their dynasty of the ’50’s, Brooklyn’s roster changed only intermittantly, but it was this season of ’54 that fans were introduced to the venerable Walt Alston. The vintage of this team-signed ball is most certainly determined as it includes Pete Wojey whose only tenure in Flatbush was ’54. The 20 signatures are weak – averaging about “3-4” in strength – however, all of them are legible. The ball is an ONL (Giles), and newly-appointed skipper, Alston, inked the sweet spot. The remaining signatures are Jackie Robinson (“3”), Walt Moryn, Sandy Amoros, Russ Meyer, Billy Cox, Don Newcombe, Clem Labine, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Carl Furillo, Jim Gilliam, Rube Walker, Erv Palica, George Shuba, Roy Campanella (“3”), Gil Hodges, Preacher Roe and Billy Loes.
