Description

Roy Smalley, Jr. was the last Chicago Cubs shortstop before Ernie Banks debuted for the team in September of 1953. Smalley appeared in 77 games during that season at shortstop. After the season, Smalley was traded to the Braves for pitcher Dave Cole.

Presented are a pair of pants worn by Smalley while with the Milwaukee Braves. They are classic flannel with his name stitched in red on a patch in the waist area – a wash tag was sewn below it. There are also vent holes present in the crotch area. The belt is still in its place confined within the loops. The pants show tremendous wear with soiling/aging throughout.
