SKU: 41444 Category:

Among National League franchises, perhaps no other team is steeped in legacy such as the Dodgers. In the late ’40s and early 1950s, Brooklyn was distinctly the colossus of the Senior Circuit. It’s from the pennant-winning campaign of 1956 that this team-signed ball dates (and, at that, it was doubtlessly signed during the World Series). The ball is an unofficial, but high-quality, Spalding, and since receiving its 30 autographs, it’s been shellacked. The quality of the signatures ranges from “barely discernible” to “7”, but all can be identified. In several locations there are penned the affirmations “World Series 1956“, “1956 Dodgers“, and “1956 N. L. Champs.”

Rube Walker, Don Elston, and trong>Duke Snider occupy the sweet spot. Then, about the panels (and we detail these alphabetically), there are noted Sandy Amoros, Don Bessent, Ralph Branca, trong>Roy Campanella (“2”), Gino Cimoli, Roger Craig, trong>Don Drysdale (“7”), Carl Erskine, Chico Fernandez, Carl Furillo, Jim Gilliam, trong>Gil Hodges (“6”), Dixie Howell, Randy Jackson, Fred Kipp, trong>Sandy Koufax, Clem Labine, Ken Lehman, Sal Maglie, Charlie Neal, Don Newcombe, Jake Pitler, trong>Pee Wee Reese, trong>Jackie Robinson (“4”), Ed Roebuck, Chuck Templeton, and Don Zimmer.
