1955 World Champion Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Press Pin

SKU: 48420 Category:

At the expense of repeating the painfully obvious, the Dodgers of Brooklyn won nine National League pennants through their Ebbets Field tenure. Of those, they suffered defeat in eight World Series. The lone Championship was registered in the Fall Classic of 1955. And perhaps best representing that singular triumph is the press pin that they distributed for the hallowed event. Fashioned without all the flamboyance of contemporary press pins, the ’55 Dodgers is majestically simple, but it was difficult to manufacture according to blueprint. It’s characterized by a sweeping expanse of white enamel which is given to compromise in purity (most commonly evidenced in visible impurities). The 1955 Brooklyn Dodger World Series pin, with a uniformly perfect white hue and augmented by the team’s signature blue enameled hat, is a piece of remarkable beauty…when it’s made right and cared for properly. This one, in particular, is above reproach, absolutely pure white enamel (and equally so in the blue hat). Then, fully accentuating is the magnificent silver plating that highlights the pin. There’s not a hint of tarnish. Complete with its original nut, we advance this landmark press pin as NM/MT (when, in fact, it’s really Mint).
