1956 New York Daily News – Don Larsen’s World Series Perfect Game Issue & The Sporting News – ’56 All-Star Game Coverage

Presented is a lot of two newspapers from 1956. The first is from the day after Don Larsen threw a perfect game in the World Series (October 9, 1956). The paper is the local New York Daily News. It features the now famous last pitch called-strike against pinch hitter Dale Mitchell with zeros across the scoreboard in the background. The paper shows its age (VG) and has a partial tear near the top left.  Also included, is The Sporting News from October 17, 1956. The focus is on the All-Star team voting and how Mantle paced the voting during his Triple Crown season.
