1956 New York Yankees World Series Press Pin

Pennant winners of their respective leagues yet once again, the Yankees of 1956 squared off against the Dodgers of Brooklyn in the World Series. And for the contests held in Yankee Stadium, this press pin was gifted to the working media. The holder of this lapel piece likely witnessed Don Larsen’s perfect performance (Game 5 which, of course, was played in Yankee Stadium). This particular pin is nearly to the ideal. Its plated surfaces are clean and tarnish-free, and only earnest scrutiny divulges a very slight imperfection (dimpling) in the enamel (which is very forgivable in consideration of the pin’s extensive detail).
