1957 Cincinnati Reds Team-Signed Ball

Out of stock

SKU: 26755 Category:

While the American League of the 1950s was rather an annual contest to determine who’d win second place, there was dependably inconclusive excitement in the Senior Circuit campaigns. Any of four teams had the ordnance to take the flag, and a review of the Cincinnati Reds talent gracing the surface of this souvenir ball serves as testimony. (For several years during this period, the Reds were known as the “Redlegs” as the term “red” was synonymous to the Communist Bloc.) In any event, this ball is mildly and uniformly toned, yet all of its 25 autographs are clean and readily legible (mostly “8-9”). In detail, these include – Ted Kluszewski (sweet spot), Jimmy Dykes, Alex Grammas, Hal Jeffcoat, Johnny Temple, Birdie Tebbetts, Ed Bailey, Don Hoak, Bob Thurman, Gus Bell, Tom Acker, Pete Whisenant, Wally Post, Roy McMillan, Don Gross, Joe Nuxhall, Johnny Klippstein, Art Fowler, Brooks Lawrence, George Crowe, Smokey Burgess, Frank Robinson (“5-6”), Raul Sanchez, Bob Henrich and Frank McCormick.
