Out of stock

SKU: 31292 Category:

Back cover of an official 1959 All-Star Game Banquet program, appropriately designated for “Autographs”, and featuring vintage ink signatures from twenty-three National League All-Stars. It documents the first installment of the ’59 season’s two Mid-Summer Classics with Game One staged at Pittsburgh’s venerated Forbes Field, and offers bold representations of era’s greatest ballplayers, as well as numerous future Hall of Famers. These NL stars would vanquish the AL squad as Willie Mays said “hey” to a Whitey Ford fastball, and tripled Hank Aaron home to win it in the ninth. The VG/EX sheet is separated with a central compacting fold and very mild border staining. All 23 autographs are signed in blue pen (“8-10”) including: Hank Aaron; Johnny Antonelli; Ernie Banks; Ken Boyer; Smokey Burgess; Orlando Cepeda; Gene Conley; Del Crandall; Joe Cunningham; Don Elston; Roy Face; Dick Groat; Eddie Matthews; Willie Mays; Bill Mazeroski; Wally Moon; Vada Pinson; Frank Robinson; Hal Smith; Warren Spahn; Johnny Temple; Bill White and an unidentified signature. Reverse details the banquet dias and honored guests, which include a Who’s Who of Pirates baseball history as well as a number prominent Hall of Famers. Fine piece with alotta potential for display.
