Description
Prior to the Barbie doll, most doll designs on the toy market were infants. The late-1950s debut of Barbie allowed young girls to dream about their future as career-driven women. They became some of the best-selling dolls of all time with over a billion sold.
Presented is a 1960 Barbie doll which is the #4 style ponytail blonde (model 850). This particular ponytail was factory braided. Her scalp is flocked under her hair and has soft curly bangs. She has red lips, blue irises, and blonde hair. She’s on the heavy solid body, but her new body doesn’t fade anymore. Mattel changed the vinyl they used in the dolls. She comes with her original zebra swimsuit, black wire stand, black open toe Japan mules . This one has the original wire stand but does not have earrings or the original box. There’s some mild discoloration where her earrings were. Also note, this is the last early Barbie with the ™ in the marking. 1961 and newer the mark changed to Barbie ®.
