1960’s Detroit Tigers Game-Worn Jacket

This heavyweight, midnight navy pitchers jacket hails from the late 1960’s. The midnight navy satin exterior is complimented by dual white striped stretch ribbed knit collar, sleeve, and waist cuffs, as well as leather reinforced front pockets and seven shiny snap buttons.
An old English tackle twill “D’ is sewn onto the left chest, and is slightly soiled but displayable.
The inner collar features a leather “hang” piece, and a late ‘60’s Wilson label with a blank size section beneath which sits a felt swatch with “22” chain link stitched in white. The 22 would indicate possible use by Podres and Dobson, while the markered “20” would indicate possible later use by Bob Reed.
The overall condition is acceptable. However, there are some badly frayed and in some cases repaired sections of each lower back sleeve.
Despite some of the condition issues, it remains a rare style ‘60’s MLB jacket.
