1960s Jerry Mays Game-Worn Chiefs (AFL) Durene Jersey

Out of stock

SKU: 34509 Category:

Jerry Mays played ten seasons for the Dallas Texans/K.C. Chiefs and played in six AFL All-Star Games at the defensive end/tackle position. The former SMU standout’s home K.C. jersey from circa ’64-’65 is offered here and the bright fire engine red durene is seductively blinding. The jersey features full-length sleeves and well-worn white tackle twill numbers with gold feather edge trim. The NOB is solid white with a plain block font, the font style indicating the ‘64/’65 seasons. The crotch piece remains intact with a nine-button base where there’s located a size 56 Rawlings label, attached in tandem with a washing instructions tag. The shoulders are peppered with repairs, indicating multiple seasons’ use (a common practice in the league) with plenty of color and excitement, but not much funding … long live the AFL!
