1960’s Pittsburgh Pirates Game-Worn Batting Fiberglass Helmet with Letter from Team Doctor

Fiberglass “flapless” game-worn batting helmets are among the most desirable relics of the hobby. This 1960’s Pittsburgh Pirates shell is about as good as it gets. Measuring to about a size 7 (sticker has been removed), this black and yellow gem is of EX+ quality with the smallest of chipping at the back base. The proper yellow “P” decal has been affixed to the front of this helmet from the days when the Bucs wowed the Yankees in the 1960 World Series.
