1960’s Ron Mix Game Worn Sideline Jacket

Out of stock

SKU: 7499 Category:

The Hall of Famer and eight-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman once owned and operated this quilted cotton letterman style jacket as he awaited his turn on the field. This jacket type, with the great “Chargers” field goal post styling in white and yellow tackle twill on verso, is quite valuable simply for its visual appeal and A.F.L. connection, but higher plateau of appeal is reached with its connection to the great Mix. This connection is affirmed by the appearanceof a white tackle twill number “12” sewn to the left sleeve. Oddly, these numbers do not relate to uniform number, but are rather an equipment code devised by the team-Mix was issued jacket number “12” according to team records. Proper “King O’Shea” tagging inside collar. Wear is heavy, with a few minor holes and some fraying at the edges (particularly heavy on the elasticized sleeve cuffs), but nothing that detracts significantly from eye appeal.
