Ron Mix’s coach with the San Diego Chargers, Sid Gillman said,” Ron Mix was one of the greats of all time…I think he’s the greatest tackle who ever lived.”
During Mix’s entire 12-year career he only had two holding penalties. He was also known as the “Intellectual Assassin” for his law degree. When his playing days were done, he was one of the first AFL offensive linemen to gain enshrinement into the Hall of Fame.

Presented is a rare opportunity to own one of Mix’s game worn jerseys. It was from his time with the San Diego Chargers. The front tail tagging shows that it is a Higgins & Crosthwaite and [size] 46. It features cool yellow lighting bolts accents in blue around the shoulder. The identifiers are plasticized in blue including on the verso.
Overall, it has tremendous wear with repairs present and soiling and aging (yellowing) spots throughout. You can see also visibly see creasing throughout the identifiers in the provided photo and on the jersey itself. The jersey was autographed twice by Ron Mix on the front and back in black felt tip and inscribed, “HOF 1979 – 1967”. Presumably, this is the season (1967) Mix wore the jersey.
Mix also concludes that the photo provided was a photo match for it in writing on it, “To my Pal, Bob. I’m GLAd You have This JERSEY Ron Mix HOF 1997“.
Mix also provided a letter on Football Hall of Fame Letterhead for the authentication. Mix wrote and signed the letter:
“Dear Bob: I’m glad it is you who has my white 1960s road jersey.
Authentication: 100% Authentic Team, Photo & Player Letter (to Bob Case).
