Description

Dan Conners was drafted out of Miami (Fla.) in 1964. This Riddell RK2 “bubble ear” style suspension helmet is Dan’s 1965 Raiders headgear as evidenced by the original and well-aged Riddell date of manufacture sticker located inside. Dan Played eleven years with the Raiders and earned AFL All-Pro honors in 1966, 1967 and 1968. Completely original including jaw pads, crown pad, and linebacker cage mask. There are many dings, scrapes, paint transfers and hit marks, as well as a large dent on the right side of the helmet that probably helped usher this piece into retirement on the locker room helmet rack. Gray primer paint inside with Conners’ number 55 adorning the back. Striping, logos and player number are all original. Exhibits the type of brutal game wear typical of an Oakland Raider warrior of the AFL days. The face mask is original but disconnected from storage wear. See photos for more details…
