1966 Topps Uncut Proof Sheet (w/8 Diff. HOFers)
Out of stock
This very scarce uncut sheet contains 132 cards (88 different, approximating the 2nd Series) of 1966 Topps’ standard baseball issue. It’s a printer’s proof that’s missing the final ply on the reverse (blank). We report that there’s a barely discernible surface scratch extending about 19″. As well, there are several superficial creases that don’t impair the sheet’s aesthetic appeal. The sum of this sheet’s qualifications renders it about EX. There are eight Hall of Famers showcased (five of them are repeated). To wit, these are Ernie Banks, Harmon Killebrew, Lou Brock, Jim Palmer (rookie; appearing twice), Orlando Cepeda, Walt Alston, Joe Morgan, and Whitey Ford. As well, we report the appearances of Joe Torre, Rocky Colavito, Mets team (who, in ’65 finished in 10th place, of course), Vada Pinson, Tug McGraw, Boog Powell, Tommy Agee (rookie), and Bill Freehan. We’d be remiss in failing to note the inclusion of the 2nd Series checklist (with the scarcer #115 Spahn), and the 3rd Series checklist (again, the scarcer variety ‘small print’). The colors are still rich and crisp. Now securely matted, the splendid display measures 33-1/4″ x 48″.
