1968 Albuquerque Dodgers Team-Signed Ball (w/Duke Snider)
Out of stock
The novelty in this team-signed ball is borne on the sweet spot signing of the immortal Duke Snider. There are 20 different ballpoint signatures on its surface, and it’s a NM/MT Official Texas League ball. A little research has divulged that a couple years after his 1964 retirement from the major league diamond, Snider accepted the command of the Albuquerque Dodgers (not to be misidentified as the Albuquerque “Dukes”). These minor league Dodgers were franchised in the AA Texas League’s circuit. We may never know all the secrets, but we do know that the Albuquerque Dodgers that season won the pennant, and that the Duke (the “Duke of Flatbush”, that is) immediately moved on to new pastures – to enjoy a lengthy career in Montreal’s broadcast booth. Meanwhile all these signatures are quite legible (though only a couple of the players went on to meaningful visibility in the Big Leagues – Bill Sudakis and Willie Crawford). And the Snider signature, by the way, is a stout “9” in quality.
