1968 Oakland A’s Game-Worn Flannel Jersey

Charlie O. Finley was an innovator in the truest sense. While some of his ideas didn’t work too well (remember those orange baseballs?) his stamp on the game is indelible.
This size “46” flannel jersey was used in the 1968 season – the A’s first in Oakland. While we can’t identify exactly who wore the jersey, it has undergone a number change from “29” to “37.” Chuck Dobson wore #29 during the season. However, this might have been worn by a September call-up or even in Spring Training. “OAKLAND” is sewn across the front in green-and-yellow thread and, as we’ve declared, “37” is applied to the verso. Gorgeous gold/green/ gold braiding surrounds the sleeve ends and neckline. Situated in the tail are three tags: “Tim McAuliffe”, year, and size.
