1969-70 Topps Basketball Card Set (99) w/ Lew Alcindor Graded RC Card – SGC

This 1969-70 Topps Basketball Card Complete Set consists of all of the 99 tall boy style cards.  They were issued as a single series, that included a checklist, the cards measure 2.5″ by 4-11/16″ and are perfect accent to the tall players in the sport. They were sold in 10-card packs, with an inserted “basketball ruler”.

The 1969-70 Topps Basketball Card Set highlighted the NBA’s once in a generation rookie, UCLA’s Lew Alcindor.  Alcindor,who later changed his name to Kareem Abdul Jabbar, makes his debut on card #25. The Wilt Chamberlain card #1 also remains popular among collectors as well.

As this was the first national basketball card set in eight years, and 12 years since Topps issued a set, the majority of the players, in the 1969-70 Topps Basketball Card Set were making there first appearance on a card.  Among them are: #10 Nate Thurmond, #15 Connie Hawkins, #20 John Havlicek, #43 Bill Bradley, #45 Jerry Lucas, #60 Willis Reed, #75 Elvin Hayes, #80 Earl Monroe and #98 Walt Frazier.

Presented is a complete set of the 1969-70 Topps basketball cards 99/99. It is a good starter grade set that comes in clean from one collector who has had them in his collection for a long time. Most cards are low-to-mid-grade with some more some less. Notable flaws on popular ones include Wilt Chamberlain (creased, surface wear) and Lew Alcindor encapsulated and graded by SGC 1 PR.  Overall, a nice vintage basketball set that will retain it’s value regardless of any imperfections.
