Description

Presented from the 1969 Atlanta Braves season is this Felipe Alou game worn flannel jersey. Alou was a close to .300 (.282) batting average player in 1969 and he led the Braves to their first National League West Division title. It’s all original without alterations and the pin-striped style was enjoyed by the Braves from 1968-71.

The “Braves” logo is across the front and features his number “29” on the reverse. All identifiers are in navy tackle twill. Highlighting the right sleeve is a Major League Baseball “100th Anniversary Patch” (these were worn by all MLB clubs in 1969). The Braves “Screaming Indian” patch is sewn on the left sleeve. Featured on the collar strip tag is his name along with year “Alou” – “1969” and “Set 3” are chain-stitched in black. Of note, there is some staining in the collar.   A Wilson manufacturing tag with size 42 appears in the front tail. The possibility that it was worn by Alou in the NLCS exists but cannot be confirmed.
