1969 Steve Hamilton Game-Worn Yankees Flannel Jersey w/MLB Patch

Steve Hamilton was one of those rare athletes who played two professional sports. The 6’ 7”, 195 pound southpaw pitched middle relief for the Yankees from 1963-1970, and also played two seasons in the late 1950’s for the Minneapolis Lakers of the NBA. His 1969 Yankees’ pinstripe flannel is offered here in beautiful and unaltered condition. All buttons are intact; the interlocking felt “NY” never removed (how rare is that?), Hamilton’s original number 39 resides on back (a Yankee flannel with no number change?), an intact felt NIC, an original MLP 100th anniversary patch! How about a five spot in the lower left front tail – Spalding label, size 44 designator, washing instructions, SET 1 1969 flap tag, and a wonderfully aged ‘69 chain link season identifier. Thank the flannel gods for keeping this one intact and well distanced from the butchers at Ft. Lauderdale’s spring training base. Score it a 9.5 (-5 for slight minor staining imperfections) for N.Y. Yankees flannel excellence and for one of the classiest two sport performers of his time and certainly one of Morehead State’s finest… least until Phil Simms came along.
