Description
Presented are a pair of fight worn Muhammad Ali trunks. They were worn in the 1970s in the era in which he was battling Joe Frazier for the second time and Ken Norton for the third. They were sourced in 1975. The trunks are classic white satin with black trim on the waistband. Central is the manufacturing label for his go-to brand, Everlast. It reads, “MADE IN U.S.A. – Made Expressly For MUHAMMAD ALI.” Overall they shows great wear with aging/spots visible. The ability to find an Ali worn/used item is exceedingly rare so the opportunity in actually owning this treasure we expect to be as competitive as “the Greatest” in the ring.
These originate from Wali Muhammad (aka Walter Youngblood) who was one of Muhammad Ali’s assistant trainers and corner man. He trained him from the comeback until his retirement.
Also included is a letter of authentication from Bob Case who as a member of IBA was friends with Muhammad Ali. He describes the origin of the trunks from Wali with the sourcing in 1975 and his friendship with Ali. See the video on world.com.
Authentication: Signed Wali Muhammad LOA is included for authentication & Bob Case signed LOA.
