1970’s Willie Stargell Game-Worn Pirates “Flapless” Batting Helmet

Description
Willie Stargell didn’t just hit home runs. He hammered them to parts unknown. An intimidating figure at the plate, Stargell would slowly whip his weapon round and round almost like he was taunting the pitcher to throw the ball over the plate. Pops was a leader, the captain, and a mentor to all his teammatesÂ… with all of those impressive attributes usually came winning. The great winner and Hall of Famer wore this two-toned flapless shell during the 1970’s, the prime of his successful 21-year career. This stunning artifact features heavy use, the proper font black numeral “8” on the back and Roman numeral (“VIII”) markered on the crown padding. This helmet is missing the interior sweatband padding, but still rates at the top of all Stargell gamers.
