1971-1973 Paul Warfield Game-Worn Dolphins Helmet
Out of stock
The true NFL fan and critic knows just how good Paul Warfield was. While his numbers may not mirror that of Hutson, Rice or Carter, Warfield’s impact on the game was felt for many years. Just ask any Browns or Dolphins fan how good the Hall of Famer was. This beautiful early ’70s 12-point suspension helmet was worn when Warfield was hauling in pass after pass. TK impregnated, the white shell has the traditional Dolphins early ’70s striping pattern. According to authenticator Lou Lampson, the side logos are correct in size, placement, color hues and mil depth. The lower back aqua stripes have Warfield’s #42 in orange dye cut and elongated cerafed font. An early ’70s Riddell BD-9, two-bar facemask with white side markings is in place at proper angulation for Warfield. The interior is completely intact and sports a cream snubber, gray crown, doughnut, worn leather headband and medium leather jaw pads. The [size] “7 1/8” helmet is within correct parameters for Warfield. The Riddell interior sticker has a markered “42” in red. Above the right ear hole is a time clock dating the shell to 1971. The outer wear is light with some logo discoloration, but overall, it stands proudly as an early ’70s Warfield gamer. ’72 and the undefeated season? Perhaps, but certainly from the Dolphins’ back-to-back championship era and before his defection to the WFL.
