Description
The 1972 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) 1972 season. The 69th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the American League champion Oakland Athletics and the National League champion Cincinnati Reds. The Athletics won in seven games. It was the first World Series championship for the Athletics since 1930.
The A’s organization chose to honor the members of the team and front office with World Series rings as well as a gorgeous set of cufflinks. The 14k yellow gold set has raised bezel set with a green gemstone set in the middle. It has the following engraved: “OAKLAND A’s 1972 – WORLD CHAMPIONS.”
Notes from the appraisal letter: Bezel set into the center of each cufflink is one oval cabochon cut imitation green gemstone. The total weight is 16.4 grams. Both links present as NM in quality.
Also included is an original World Championship pennant. It features the logo on the left and the three years as Champions below.
