Offered here is a 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates team signed ONL (Fenney) baseball.  The last year of the great one Roberto Clemente followed by HOFers Stargell, Mazeroski. Followed by  Steve Blass, Al Oliver, Gene Alley, Dave Giusti, Luke Walker, Richie Hebner, Rennie Stennett, Dave Cash Bob Johson, Bob Miller Milt May, Jackie Hernandez, Gene Cines, Vic Davaliilo, Bob Roberson, Jose Pagan Manny Saguillen, and Doc Ellis Who pitched a NONO on Acid and Bob Moose who died in a car crash. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Clemente was leading off against Matlack after a strikeout in his first at-bat. Clemente promptly roped a double to the Three Rivers outfield – his 3,000th and last regular-season hit of his exceptional career. On December 31, 1972, he died in a plane crash at the age of 38 while en route to deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. The following season, the Pirates retired his uniform number 21, and MLB renamed its annual Commissioner’s Award in his honor. Now known as the Roberto Clemente Award, it is given to the player who “best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individual’s contribution to his team
