1973-75 Richie Allen Game-Used, Signed Bat

If it seemed like Richie Allen swung a tree trunk, he did. When the imposing figure strolled to the plate he did so with a 41.4 ounce club. No wonder he hit 351 home runs in 14 seasons. This behemoth piece of lumber (35″) was used by Allen from 1973-75 given its labeling period. Baseball hit marks (blue) are evident on the right and back barrel of this uncracked marvel. A moderate layering of pine tar has been applied to the handle. “P89” is stamped on the knob and “15” is written in marker. Allen signed the barrel with the inscription “72 MVP” in blue felt tip. PSA bat authenticator John Taube graded this bat GU 8 for it exception use and characteristics.
