1973-84 Yankees Game Jersey #25 Rawlings

Presented is a white Yankee pinstripe jersey was manufactured by Rawlings. Rawlings tagging appears in the bottom tail, with size “36” and wash tag instructions on the manufacturer label.  Based on the front tagging it dates to the 1973-84 era.

Although this is not an issued or worn Yankees jersey, players who wore the number #25 (sewn on back) during that era were Dell Alston (1978) and Ruppert Jones (1980). It is possible that this was used as a promotional Rawlings jersey and created for one of their sponsored events. Another possibility is that since the Yankees moved away from Rawlings back in the early 60’s, they created this one as a salesman sample to recapture their business. Nonetheless, it is a unique high quality variation of a Yankees game jersey from that era.
