A 6’11” center from the University of Texas-Pan American, Moore played nine seasons (1968–1977) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Kansas City–Omaha Kings, and New Orleans Jazz. He averaged 8.2 points and 8.2 rebounds in his NBA career and ranked eighth in blocks per game (1.7) during the 1975–76 NBA season.
Presented is a Otto Moore game worn purple mesh road jersey (#34). He played for the Jazz between 1974-76. Otto Moore game-used memorabilia is truly a marquee piece in any collection. In provenance, the jersey is intricately tied to the New Orleans Jazz team right before they moved to Utah.
The front features the Jazz logo and jersey #34 sewn-on in vinyl. This was the first year the Jazz featured this font on their logo. It was simple with a thin “A” in Jazz with the note unique and different. The condition of the identifiers are solid because they are vinyl showing wear without cracking which is normal.
A double Sand-Knit tag is sewn in straight stitch on the left front tail. The top is the exclusive tag for New Orleans and the bottom showcases the proper [size] 44. The classic labeling is well worn and original. To highlight the team’s colors, green and yellow ribbing is around the arms and neck openings. Other teams that wore Sand-Knit jerseys in this era like the Bucks, Bulls, and Cavs had excessive cracking/puckering on the identifiers as well. Overall, a tremendous fresh-to-market marquee jersey that would help complete a top tier NBA game used collection.
This jersey was collected after the New Orleans Jazz moved and was stored by the team source. It has not seen the light of day until nowAuthentication: 100% Authentic Team
