Description

1975 Chicago Winds WFL Game Worn Staff Shirt Jersey

In 1975, before its second season was even over the World Football League folded. Playing off the city’s nickname, the Chicago Winds were the successor to the Chicago Fire in 1975. The Winds played at Soldier Field and the team was in the WFL’S Western Division.

The Winds owner prior to the season was trying to sign Joe Namath to a contract. Reports were that Namath was going to retire or be traded to another team. The Winds in their recruiting effort changed their colors to Jets colors green and white. This white staff shirt was from that short Winds life. Lightweight top collar button. Size XL with great logo and staff highlighted in green on front. Bottom has identification markings in felt tip – M. Puppy Davis. Overall a great treasure from the short-lived WFL.
