1975 WFL Chicago Winds Game Worn Staff Jacket

In 1975, before its second season was even over the World Football League folded. Playing off the city’s nickname, the Chicago Winds were the successor to the Chicago Fire in 1975. The Winds played at Soldier Field and the team was in the WFL’S Western Division.

The Winds owner prior to the seaon was trying to sign Joe Namath to a contract. Reports were that Namath was going to retire or be traded to another team. The Winds in their recruiting effort changed their colors to Jets colors green and white. This kelly green jacket was from that short Winds life. Lightweight button down with collar. Manufactured by Gem Sportswear, it’s a size large with great logo and staff highlighted in white on front.  Overall a great treasure from the short-lived WFL.

Includes an official paper with their letterhead.
