Description
Rich Kelley is a retired American basketball player. Kelley played college basketball at Stanford University and was the 1st round pick (#7 overall) of the New Orleans Jazz in the 1975 NBA draft. Kelley played ten NBA seasons.
Presented is a pair of Kelley’s New Orleans Jazz game worn shorts from the Pistol Pete era with excellent provenance. They are a white mesh with yellow/green/purple piping (elasticized) around the edges. The Jazz note logo is showcased on the thigh in their team colors.
The tagging in the waistband shows they were made by Sand Knit Medalist – Size (38). The labeling matches exemplars from Jazz in the late 1970’s. They are hand numbered on the interior labeling #53 in a patch. It should be noted, that as these shorts were commonly recycled forward as well.
They have a drawstring in the waistband and a liner in the interior crotch area. The garment shows solid wear throughout and are an exemplary rare display of player worn trunks. They originate from a team source and are a perfect investment opportunity in the world of New Orleans Jazz game worn memorabilia.
