1977-78 Dave Scott Game-Worn Atlanta Falcons Helmet
Out of stock
Description
Dave Scott played seven seasons in the NFL, all with the Atlanta Falcons. The guard/tackle from Kansas was a third round pick of the Falcons in the 1976 draft.
The Rawlings’ HND-9 shell is impregnated red with leather padding and has an 8-point heavy foam suspension. Extra large jaw pads are in place beneath each ear hole. “41” is marked over each ear hole, perhaps an inventory reference or more likely, a numeric identifier for Secedrick McIntyre, who played six games in 1977.
In fact, a faint outline of #41 can barely be seen under the #70, validating this theory. Correct striping and Falcon logos decorate the outer shell, inclusive of Scott’s #70 in white 1½”, full block identifier in proper position.
A green dot OPO accompanies the helmet, as do broken clips, and this mask, undoubtedly not Scott’s, was probably retrofitted back in the day.
The headgear shows wonderful wear, both inside and out.
