1977-79 Frank Robinson Personal Model Game-Used Coach’s Bat
Out of stock
Thirty-six inch H&B war club used by Hall of Famer Frank Robinson, one of the diamond’s most dominating all-time sluggers, and one of only 14 players in 137 years of major league history to win the Triple Crown. He entered baseball as 1956 Rookie of the Year and for the next 21 seasons, never let up, earning MVP honors in both leagues (with the Reds in 1961 and Orioles in 1966), and tallying 586 career home runs and 2,943 hits. In 1975, he became MLB’s first black manager; joining the Cleveland Indians as a player/manager – and slowly eased into the skipper’s job full time. It was during this transitional period, specifically between 1977-79, as dictated by the labeling, that Big Frank swung this P89 personal model Louisville Slugger. It offers all proper specs for a Robinson gamer and tremendous use; the top and back of the barrel display deadwood plus a crack repaired with standard cobbling nails. It also displays a ton of ball and cleat marks and tar, and it all adds up to a tremendous representation of a legitimate 500 Home Run Club member.
