1977-79 Reggie Jackson Game Used Bat

It was a with a bat much like this one that the Hall of Fame 500 Home Run Club member earned the nickname “Mr. October.” Given that this model of Adirondack 288RJ was produced only from 1971-79, and Reggie didn’t adopt number “44” until he came to the Yanks during those glorious disco days of 1977, we can definitively date the moderate use on the bat to the World Championship era. The barrel offers a scattering of baseball bruises, with number “44” in marker on the barrel end. Oddly, the number “6” on the knob relates to another Yankee hero, Roy White, who may have accounted for some of the use here as well. Length and weight are 34.25 inches and 34 ounces respectively. It just doesn’t get any cooler-a Yankee Championship-era tied to two of the greatest ever to wear the pinstripes.
