1977 Johnny Bench Game-Used Bat

It would be difficult to dispute the fact that Johnny Bench is the best catcher in history. After all, the Hall of Famer made 13 consecutive All-Star appearances and won 10 straight Gold Gloves with Cincinnati. More importantly, Bench powered the “Big Red Machine” to a pair of World Series championships. This stunner is from 1977, Bench’s last truly great season. The handle of this Louisville Slugger B278 is caked heavily in pine tar, and features a healthy crack. The barrel is decorated with cleat marks, red bat rack marks, and hit marks. The slugger’s number “5” is written in black marker inside the cupped barrel. The bat measures 35.25″, and weighs 32.5-oz. A definitive beauty.
