Seattle Slew was a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who is the tenth winner of the American Triple Crown. He is known for his elecrifying speed and he is one of only two horses to have won the Triple Crown while been undefeated in any previous race; the second was Justify who won the Triple Crown in 2018 and is descended from Seattle Slew. Seattle Slew was the 1977 Horse of the Year and a champion at ages two, three, and four. In the Blood-Horse magazine List of the Top 100 U.S. Racehorses of the 20th Century Seattle Slew was ranked ninth.
Presented is an amazing display that celebrates Seattle Slew’s victory at the Kentucky Derby. Central to the display is an actual ticket stub from the race 1977 Kentucky Derby. Seattle Slew also won the Triple Crown by winning the Belmont Stakes and Preakness that year. The wooden display plaque (6×10) is in the shape of Washington (state) and features a bronze colored medallion of the American thoroughbred.
