1978 Steve Garvey Game-Worn Dodgers Batting Helmet (Worn August 27 vs. Phillies)

The Iron Man of his era, Steve Garvey played in 1,207 consecutive games, a National League record. Initially a third baseman with a less than impressive arm, Garvey came into his own when he was moved to first base, the position he played when he won the Gold Glove four years in a row. Offered is a terrific Dodgers helmet worn during the “Aug 27 1978” contest vs. the “Phillies” (as inscribed on the interior “American Baseball Cap” sticker). This well-used shell has the proper white “6” decals on the front and back, which complete this Hall of Fame-caliber helmet.
